Feeling the Love for Nova Scotia Wine

 In Uncategorized

For us, Valentines is all about showing some love to the wineries and their staff who always provide our guests with a warm, welcoming behind-the-scenes tour of their operations. We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without them and we’re so proud to help showcase their successes. Over the years, we’ve certainly fallen head over heels for our fair share their incredible creations so here are just a few for you to consider as part of your February 14th celebrations.

2016 Ancienne Pinot Noir (Lightfoot & Wolfville)

For a romantic red, try this vibrant, light bodied wine by Alantic Canada’s 2018 Winery of the Year. This elegant style of Pinot Noir has an ‘ethereally aromatic nose’ with Valentine’s forward fruit- fresh cherry and cranberry balanced with subtle earthy and floral notes. Pairs well with pork, salmon, mushrooms and wild game.

Chocolate Wine (Planter’s Ridge)

For something that screams Valentines Day, check out this special release by Planter’s Ridge. You can pick up a bottle in person one of our tours or at their Chocolate Wine release at the winery Saturday, February 9th where they’ll also be serving up artisan chocolate from local chocolatiers. Can you say yummmmmm?

Reserve Riesling (Domaine de Grand Pré )

We adore this medium sweet white wine. Its naturally high acidity provides balance to its pronounced fruit flavours. Recipient of the Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Excellence in Nova Scotia Wines in 2017 and gold medal winner at the National Wine Awards of Canada that same year, this versatile wine won’t disappoint. Cook up your favourite spicy Asian dish and enjoy!

NV Brut LD Magnum (Benjamin Bridge )

For something that says you’re one-of-a-kind, try this rare release from Benjamin Bridge. If you’re a fan of their ever-popular NV Brut, this bubbly’s for you. The NV BRUT LD MAGNUM is a blend of multiple vintages of wine with a ‘toasty, fresh bread aroma.’ This is a limited edition wine so pop over to their online shop now to get yours while supplies last.
